· Hot tank and acid dip bare block
· Re-bore cylinders
· Replace all freeze plugs
· Check and line bore crankshaft clearances
· Re-thread and/or install thread inserts in every hole in the block
· Machine deck surface (top)
· Check and/or machine oil pan surface (bottom)
· All new alloy pistons and rings ( AE, Venolia, Arias) ( 9.0:1 - 9.5:1
- 10.0:1)
· Machine and balance crankshaft
· Replace all crankshaft core plugs - (clean thoroughly)
· Straighten, balance, and shot peen all connecting rods
· Install new wrist pin bushing and new style rod bolts and nuts
· New timing chains and heavy-duty timing chain tensioner and oil screen
· New guide rails and lock tabs
· New main bearings
· New rod bearings
· New thrust washers
· New heavy-duty hi-volume oil pump
· New rear main rope seal (if equipped)
· New style Teflon front seal with inner guide and O-ring
· New locking washers on main bearing bolts
· Overhaul oil pressure relief valve assembly
· New "felt" oil filter cartridge
· New oil return line (hydraulic hose not ordinary rubber hose)
· New chrome molly head studs
· New chrome head nuts
· New chrome "D" head washers
· Machine and polish engine lifters
· New copper washers on oil galley ports and water jacket ports
· New coolant petcock
· New metal oil line to camshafts with new copper washers
· All new gaskets and seals - (Hylomar sealer exclusively used.)
· Disassemble, clean, inspect and bead blast timing chain adjuster
mechanism.
· Check camshaft sprocket splines for adjustment ability.
· Bead blast timing cover - check for damage and internal water damage
( pitting )
· Replace studs in timing cover for water pump, adding thread inserts
as necessary.
· Safety wire camshaft bolts
